Yes, Buttercup shall be the organizer! He shall organize the utter chaos we shall find ourselves in into order! I vote for Buttercup!

Yeah... uh, better ask him. :-) He did not mention much about it last night when we had dinner... but, you know, I am pretty sure he would be into it. Thanks for bringing a new DJ to the Mountain, Morgana!

Actually, Sizzle does have it correct as far as music goes at Beltaine. Nothing has been "consensed upon" about having music on the actual day of Beltaine though I imagine with the way the dates are arranged there might be a kitchen dance the weekend before and a Pavilion party the day after?! (Will people have energy the day after Beltaine which is on a Friday? Pace yourselves kids!!)

Also, the way it has worked in the past is that people who dj have attended a gathering before just jumping in and djing. This helps acclimate a person to the vibe of the place so they aren't playing Nine Inch Nails, Debbie Boone or Marilyn Manson when it's not appropriate (like heart circle, etc)..

That being said, I think it's fine to invite fresh peeps to play either a kitchen party or the Pavilion dance.. Who knows, maybe the bad faerie party will return deep in the woods this year ;) Bring it on, but nothing is guaranteed.. I'm all for less is more this year, keep it simple..

As with all things at these gatherings, it'll happen if you make it happen. If your dj friend wants to bring music, mixer, turntables, amp and speakers, or just an ipod to plug into the kitchen sound system, or something in between, he'll certainly find an appropriate moment or two to play if he really wants to.

..as long as it's not 5 am when someone is trying to sleep... or at least play some Orb or something...

At Family meeting tonight the consensus was decided that there will not be electronic music on the day or evening of Beltaine; to take a year off. Lots of drumming and musical instruments to make beautiful sounds though!! There will be a dance party sometime earlier in the week at some point and prolly a kitchen party as well..

We have limited solar energy here as the community is not on the grid. That also means leave your cell phones, ipods, laptops, hair dryers, flat screen tvs, blenders, microwave ovens, and such at home... Not needed. at. all. Less is more..

If you do bring flashlights, please buy rechargeable batteries, as we'll have a solar charger for folks with AA and AAA batteries out by the garden solar panel.

          Yay! It's 3 weeks away!!
